Second Reflection: Listen
dimiwp.jpg

With this image, I want it to keep the aesthetic of water seen in the image for the first reflection in order to create a connection between the reflections while also showing the result of diving deep into my mind.

In this image, the man has sunk deep into a body of water, which is how I felt after redefining my worldview. At first, I dipped my toes into the water, or into my mind, by stating my initial worldview of finding meaning by looking back on our past. From there, I began submerging myself into the water further so that I could take my worldview in a new direction, which was that we are striving to voice ourselves. I then plunged myself completely into the water, as shown with the man in the image, when I took the two aspects of my worldview, how we voice ourselves and why we do it, and laboriously attempted to expand on them in order to understand my worldview better. However, referring back to the man in the image, he appears to be puckering his lips and puffing his cheeks out, as if he is holding his breath, and is angling his head high up to the surface of the water, as if he is yearning to get above it. This represents me after diving deep into my mind because I was thinking about my worldview constantly, which helped me discover new details about it, but I was drowning myself in these thoughts by always thinking about my worldview. As a result, there were many times when I wanted to run away from this project, but I did not want it to defeat me. Thus, I had to make the effort to seriously release these thoughts about my worldview from my mind and only grasp them when it was time to work on my project.

Creating this website has sorely taught me that I need to limit how much time I spend critically thinking, especially when it comes to introspection.

Second Reflection: Welcome

SECOND REFLECTION

"A meaningful life is defined through voicing ourselves to the world. We act confident, by standing straight and not worrying too much about our appearance in terms of clothing. We make great efforts, by standing even taller than before and speaking aloud to others. We assume confidence and making great efforts in order to voice ourselves so we may find meaning in our life. The purpose of our life is to ultimately become a person or truly human. Our lives are spent going through the notions of moving from city to city, finding love, gaining a career, etc. All of it is for driving us to that goal of becoming a person. This includes realizing what that feeling of true satisfaction is, what it feels like to be fulfilled with one's life. However, we will never get there because we are always changing. We change what career we pursue, where we settle down, and who we want to be with. So, we, and generations that come after us, will continue this circling path of trying to eventually become a person, and we cannot escape this part of our nature. But we can at least try to become a person, fulfill ourselves, and attain a meaningful life. We can look on our past regrets and accept them. We can pursue our passion to get to voice ourselves."

This second reflection acts as a summary of how my worldview has developed since my first reflection. In my initial worldview, I said that we can define our lives as meaningful by looking back on the past and evaluating our successes, failures, etc. However, this worldview did not seem complete to me and so, with the worldview image, I formed the view that we are trying to voice ourselves by being confident and making great efforts. After realizing that this was my worldview, I was then able to formulate that our purpose in life is to become a person. We desire this in order to feel fulfilled with our lives, as was said in the explanation for Secret Fate of All Life. However, most of us may never reach that feeling because of our changes in careers, love interests, and where we settle down with our significant other, but we are forever linked to this purpose. Due to this inevitability, as discussed in the explanation for +1 Verse, we must then at least try to reach that feeling of fulfillment by pursuing our passion, finding individuals who will listen to our voice, and accepting the regrets we have for our past in order to voice ourselves to the world.

It appears that I had made progress in developing a worldview, but I noticed differences and similarities in this redefined worldview and my initial worldview.

Let us move on to the next page to reread the first and second reflections and examine the differences and similarities between both versions of my worldview.
